I am a 24 year old woman from Nottingham who’s passion is to help others through this magical practice. I’m a bubbly girl and “highly spirited” (a little bit bonkers) and like to bring this energy to my classes. You’ve got to have some fun along the way right?
But on a serious note, My aim is to bring people together from different backgrounds and create a community of acceptance and love.
My yoga journey started 6 years ago.
Why did I start yoga? The honest answer – I don’t know. I am still unsure as to why I clicked on my first YouTube yoga video, but when speaking to a yoga teacher a couple of years back, she told me that “yoga comes into your life when you need it the most.” And I couldn’t agree more.
After a month of practising yoga I started to feel different – I was calmer, more rational, my relationships grew stronger & I found a sense of contentment.
All of this change from stretching to some groovy music in my bedroom? I didn’t understand. So I started studying Yoga Philosophy to understand the “why’s” and the benefits. My passion grew stronger and stronger so I decided to take a few classes.
This turned into 5 years of practicing yoga almost every single day, whilst incorporating meditation and breath work (pranayama) and exploring spirituality and what it means to me.
I became a modern yogi.
Earlier this year, I made the decision to go for my yoga teacher training; I felt this urge to pass on my knowledge so yoga can help other people the way it’s helped me. Give them the tools, the self care and yogic acceptance that I found. I completed my training with Himalaya Yoga Valley Goa, specialising in Ashtanga Vinyasa and meditation.
When I think of the ways yoga has changed my life it makes me emotional. Yoga has played a huge part of the person I have become.
